Fog and Nature
  • What can I expect during the first therapy session?
The first session is essentially our meet and greet. This is where we begin to get to know each other. I will ask many questions. I will provide a comprehensive assessment, which will take into account your personal history, present-day concerns, and what you might be hoping for in the therapeutic process. If you have specific goals for therapy and/or beyond, you can talk about those, too. Together we will address any questions or concerns and build a plan to move forward. If at any time you or I don't feel as those this is the best fit for you, I will provide referrals based on your needs.
  • How long is a session and how often will I see you?
Sessions are typically 50 minutes long for individual sessions and 1 hour for couples sessions. In the beginning session are often scheduled weekly. Weekly sessions help to keep you accountable and motivated to work towards your goals in an efficient way. You may notice as therapy progresses, and you begin to heal and grow, fewer sessions are needed. Occasionally, it may be appropriate to meet more or less often, depending on your needs.
  • What forms of payment do you accept?
I accept all major credit cards, HSA, and FSA cards.
  • Do you accept insurance?
Yes. I currently accept Aetna, VA Community Care Network (CCN), ChampVA, United Healthcare, NC Blue Cross Blue Shield and NC Medicaid Plans: AmeriHealth Caritas, Healthy Blue, Wellcare and United HealthCare. If you do not have either of these insurances you would be responsible for my rate of $150 per individual session, $200 per couples session or $175 for diagnostic evaluations. Your plan, however, may reimburse you a portion of your financial investment if you have out-of-network coverage. Here are some questions to ask your insurance provider: 1. What are my behavioral health care benefits? 2. Do I need a referral from my primary care provider? 3. What is my deductible and have I met it? 4. What amount do you cover for out-of-network providers? 5. What credentials must my therapist have for me to receive reimbursement?
  • Do you offer both in-person and virtual therapy appointments?
Yes, I do. I offer virtual sessions, which is conducted via a HIPPA compliant telehealth platform. I also offer in-person sessions.
